Affected on the commercial level, the chocolatier Cémoi takes care of its CSR – Le Journal des Entreprises
Based in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), the chocolatier Cemoi (2,200 employees, 2021 turnover: €620 million) is finalizing a job protection plan involving the elimination of 37 positions, the majority within its mobile sales force. Struck by the inflationary context and the reduction in volumes on the confectionery market, the group invokes the need to “focus on its know-how as a chocolate manufacturer for industrialists and the catering trades” – a strategic option unveiled for several months, following the takeover of Cémoi by the Belgian group Sweet Products. The social plan will be finalized by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2023. In the meantime, the chocolate maker is updating its CSR strategy, initiated in 2015 and aimed at providing quality cocoa, based on criteria of traceability, quality of life of the planter and preservation of the environment: it will now integrate all the raw materials. Cémoi has 24,500 partner producers around the world.
