At Les Fleurs de Nicolas, 600 recruitments for lily of the valley and 10% of turnover in three days – Le Journal des Entreprises – Maine-et-Loire

Lily of the valley picking will be in full swing from April 20 to 25 at Les Fleurs de Nicolas, a subsidiary of the Bigot Fleurs group, based in Allonnes in Sarthe. The family horticultural business, which joined the British Flamingo group in December 2021, has 200 employees and a turnover of 25 million euros in 2022. During the lily of the valley season, it recruits up to 600 people to carry out picking and packaging. Lily of the valley represents 10 to 12% of the company’s turnover, with 5 million strands sold in total. At Les Fleurs de Nicolas, the online sale concerns 50,000 sprigs. “We can pride ourselves on being today the only French player in online flower sales to also have the producer cap. This is what allows us to guarantee the delivery of fresh flowers within 24 hours anywhere in France, and whose quality we control since we do not use any intermediary”, explains Nicolas Bigot, general manager of Les Fleurs de Nicolas. This year, the company from Sarthe is launching lily of the valley in pots, a long-awaited novelty.
