Contargo reports a sharp increase in traffic at the port of Valenciennes – Le Journal des Entreprises

Manager of the port of Valenciennes, the German group Contargo (€566 million turnover in 2021, 1,200 employees) has seen a sharp increase in activity in container traffic. In 2022, the number of containers handled by Contargo at the Valenciennes terminal increased by 36%, to reach nearly 135,000 TEUs. This makes the site the largest river terminal for containers in France operated by a 100% private operator, welcomes a press release from the group. Since the summer of 2022, the productivity of the terminal has been further enhanced by the automation of all operational processes, the press release further specifies.
