Economic activity in the Var resists in the third quarter of 2022 – Le Journal des Entreprises

According to the latest business survey from the CCI du Var, the resilience of activity anticipated in the 2nd quarter of 2022 by business leaders was confirmed in the 3rd quarter, despite a gloomy context. The activity resists with 33% of the business leaders of the panel, who note an increase in their activity, against 23% a decline. Growth in activity is mainly driven by the hotel and catering industry (balance of opinion at +51 points), which is continuing to rise after two difficult years. For the end of the year, the panel expects turnover to be stable overall, but with disparities depending on the sector: growth in services, stability for construction and wholesale trade, decline for retail and industry. For 2023, the level of uncertainty is very high, especially on energy costs and availability.
