Gérard Chancereul, co-founder of the poultry group LDC, has died – Le Journal des Entreprises – Maine-et-Loire

Monday February 20, Gérard Chancereul, one of the three founding members of the LDC poultry group based in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, died at the age of 85. Associated with Auguste Dodard, he had decided in 1968 to merge the activity of their SME with that of Rémy Lambert, giving birth to LDC in 1970: Lambert Dodard Chancereul. The new factory created employed 90 people. Today, LDC is the leading poultry group in France, notably with the brands Le Gaulois, Marie and Maître Coq, employing more than 23,500 people worldwide. Its turnover should reach 5.8 billion euros for the 2022 financial year (which will end in March 2023) and its managers plan to reach 7 billion euros in 2027. Chairman of the group’s management board in 1984, Gérard Chancereul passed the torch to Denis Lambert in the early 2000s, while remaining chairman of the supervisory board until 2019. Denis Lambert will hand over the chairmanship of the group to current CEO Philippe Gélin next May..
