In Allaire, Katell is a company that intends to bring the chips of yesteryear up to date. 10 million euros have been invested to build a factory of more than 4,000 m² where traditional cauldron-cooked crisps are made. The raw materials to produce these potato or buckwheat chips come from short local circuits. This in connection with the cooperative Le Gouessant (4,500 member farmers and 657 million euros in turnover in 2021). This adventure is carried by two brothers Laurent and Jean-Michel Gicquel. 20 positions were created when the plant opened. Positioned on a premium range, Katell products are marketed in France in supermarkets and also in delicatessens.
