Mericq signs a new acquisition in Spain – Le Journal des Entreprises


Less than a year after signing a first international acquisition in Ireland, the Agenais family group Mericq (€390 million turnover in 2022), a supplier of seafood products, announces the acquisition of the Spanish company Mariscos Wildomar, a specialist in clams and other shellfish. Mericq’s strategy throughout these various acquisitions remains the same: “move up the value chain, increase control of supplies and develop new know-how”. Thus, it deploys a synergy between its various subsidiaries (bouchot mussel from Normandy via Kermarée, Irish mussel from Breizon) to supply the Mariscos Wildomar market. Based in Irun, in the Spanish Basque Country, the location of the company is strategic for Mericq, which will thus be able to market all of its offer on the Spanish market and deliver to customers in Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands. and UK “within 24 hours of order”. Mericq, who recently opened a new site in Corrèzehopes to reach 430 million euros in turnover in 2023.
