Mutares in exclusive negotiations to acquire the automotive subcontractor Walor International – Le Journal des Entreprises – Maine-et-Loire
The Bavarian investment company Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (€4 billion turnover in 2022, 14,000 employees in 2021) has entered into exclusive negotiations with the majority shareholder of Walor International, Eric Lorin, for its acquisition. Walor International, whose head office is located in Laval (Mayenne) employs more than 1,200 people, with an annual turnover of 211 million euros in 2022 (230 M€ planned for 2023). The company manufactures forged and machined steel parts for the automotive industry. Walor has thirteen subsidiaries in Germany, Romania, Mexico, China, and mainly in France in Laval (Mayenne), Legé (Loire-Atlantique), Offranville (Seine-Maritime), Chambon-Feugerolles (Loire), Bogny and Vouziers (Ardennes). The completion of the acquisition, planned for the second quarter of 2023, remains subject to the conclusion of negotiations and the approval of the competition authorities. In 2022, Mutares has acquired the global plastic parts business of Mann + Hummel, including its Laval site, now MoldTecs.
