New car registrations fall by 6.3% in 2022 in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes – Le Journal des Entreprises


After two particularly difficult years linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the French automobile market did not take advantage of a calmer year 2022 on the health front to recover. New car registrations in France fell by almost 8% compared to 2021 to stand at 1.58 million at the end of December. With 178,875 new cars registered in 2022, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region recorded a drop in registrations of 6.3% compared to 2021 (190,848). With -13.7%, Haute-Loire is the department that has experienced the strongest drop, while Haute-Savoie shows the strongest increase with +10.8%.
