Results, US PMI and GDP, the main publications for next week


During the week of January 23-27, investors’ attention will be on the following: fourth quarter US GDPwhich should reflect a moderation in the growth rate to 2.9% in annualized terms, against 3.2% in July-September; and in the second quarter of 2008, which should reflect a slowdown in the pace of growth to 2.9% in annualized terms, against 3.2% in July-September. January’s preliminary PMI indices for industry and services will be released on both sides of the Atlantic..

In Europe, the focus will be on IFO survey on business confidence in Germany in January, while in the Asia-Pacific region, the focus will be on the January CPI in Japan.
