SNCF Réseau and the Occitanie Region will invest nearly 500 million euros in rail – Le Journal des Entreprises

SNCF Réseau and the Occitanie Region plan to invest 483 million euros to modernize the regional rail network in 2023. More than 50 major projects are planned on the territory: regeneration of the track, reinforcement of earthworks, replacement of the catenary, renewal of switches , accessibility improvements, signaling works, etc. Part of this budget is also earmarked for the fine service lines: maintenance operations are planned for 1,600 km of lines, in particular on the H lozérien, the yellow train, the from the Gers or from Toulouse to Rodez and in the Lot. The overall objective of this plan is to accommodate more trains in order to reach the target of 100,000 daily passengers on the lio.train network, operated by the Region. To carry out this work, SNCF Réseau, after having recruited 220 people in 2022, is opening 200 more positions in 2023.
