The acquisition of Ovoteam by LDC accepted by the Competition Authority – Le Journal des Entreprises – Maine-et-Loire

In 2022, the Sarthois agri-food group LDC announced takeover of the Mâtines brand from the Avril group (€43 million in 2021 sales), market leader in table eggs. In the continuity of this recovery, the LDC group has notified its plan to acquire the company Ovoteam to the Competition Authority. In a press release, the latter announces that it “has authorized this operation without conditions.” Another subsidiary of the Avril group, Ovoteam (€85 million turnover in 2021, 250 employees), specializes in the manufacture and marketing of egg products for the agri-food industries, out-of-home catering, bakery-pastries and pastries. The company has four industrial sites in Ambrières-les-Vallées (Mayenne), Auneau-Bleury-Saint-Symphorien (Eure-et-Loir), Naizin-Évellys (Morbihan) and Plaintel (Côtes-d’Armor). By making its takeover project public in the fall of 2022, LDC announced that it was considering an investment plan of more than €7 million over the next three years in the various sites.
