The Beauval Zoo is coming to the end of a new series of major projects
It is one of the most beautiful zoological parks in the world, 4th according to the Trip Advisor site. At the heart of a region yet rich in exceptional tourist sites, it is the one that attracts the most: 2 million visitors, just for the year 2022, a record. And of the 800 species it hosts, some are found nowhere else in France, we obviously think of pandas, but this is also the case for koalas or the Tasmanian devil. This site is the Zoo Parc de Beauval, in the Loir-et-Cher.
The park was created in 1980 by Françoise Delord to initially accommodate the birds she loved so much. “We had 300 in our apartment Parisian !”, remembers Rodolphe Delord, his son, Chairman and CEO of the family business. Little by little, over the course of investments and often colossal works, Beauval has grown and is about to gain another 2 hectares in April 2023 to reach 45 hectares.
Because the years 2022 and 2023 have again been those of vast investments: 60 million euros over the two years, to support the “dreams” of Rodolphe Delord, around fifteen small and large construction sites. At the heart of these projects, the most emblematic is that of the South American aviary, the largest in Europe covering nearly 2 hectares, which will house between 500 and 600 birds. “born in Beauval or in other zoos”and about thirty mammals, from April 2023. “A Tribute to Mom”who died in December 2021, indicates the one who continues to lead the park with family and with passion.
