The Blanchon painting group acquires the Swiss Bigler – Le Journal des Entreprises
The specialist in building protection and decoration products Blanchon (450 employees; €120 million turnover in 2022) has just announced the acquisition of the Swiss company Bigler Lacke und Leime (15 employees) based in Lyss, which markets wood care products dedicated to the professional market. The operation aims to strengthen the presence of the Lyon group based in Saint-Priest (Rhône) on the European market for the maintenance and decoration of wooden surfaces in Europe. The brands of the Blanchon group are distributed in more than 50 countries, in particular via 7 subsidiaries in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States and China. Its export sales represent 46% of its 2022 turnover. Founded in 1832, the company develops and markets paints, varnishes and oils for wood and vinyl for the DIY market (Syntilor brand), for professionals (Blanchon, Ciranova, Rigo and Carver) and for flooring manufacturers (Blanchon Tech, Ciranova Tech).
