The Morbihannais Ouest Boissons establishes itself in the north of Nantes – Le Journal des Entreprises
Frédéric Pouliquen, CEO of Ouest Boissons (350 employees, €83 million in turnover) announced it. Very present in Brittany but also in Orne, Sarthe, Mayenne and Loire-Atlantique, the beverage distribution company from Morbihan had plans for Nantes. Already established in Saint-Nazaire, it is now building a 6,000 m² warehouse in Héric, north of Nantes, in the Erette Grande Haie area.
“We will be 25 minutes from the center of Nantes. This establishment will allow us to deliver to this catchment area but also to serve our Saint-Nazaire platform, which we have been delivering from Auray (Morbihan, Ed.) until now. new establishment in Loire-Atlantique is interesting with the dynamics of the Nantes metropolis associated with a network of coastal towns driven by tourism”, underlines Frédéric Pouliquen. The company will therefore continue its commercial development already begun in this area. After Châteaulin (Finistère)where the SME had invested 2 million euros in a 2,250-meter warehouse, Héric will now be the largest facility at Ouest Boissons, which has 14 locations.
The first deliveries from Héric are scheduled for early April. “We are starting with the creation of around twenty jobs in this warehouse. The ambition is to have a team of around thirty employees within three to five years”, announces the manager.
Training and reconditioning
These ambitions for the Loire site are also accompanied by complementary activities and services. “We are going to open an internal training center in Héric. We have the square meters to do it and the tools.” From now on, all work-study students, new recruits and sales training will take place there. “It’s a real lever for the company. The training center of Roy Logisticsnear Rennes, inspired us”, confides Frédéric Pouliquen.
Another direction is taken within the Loire site, which will house an equipment reconditioning center. “We are going to upgrade the coffee and ice machines as well as the beer pumps that we install in cafes, hotels and restaurants. We were already doing it a little but it remained marginal. There, it becomes an activity in its own right on a dedicated site. For example, the company has 1,800 coffee machines, with a renewal rate of 5 to 10% every year. This service, in tune with the times, will also bring a competitive advantage to the company. “This reconditioning activity also aims to create jobs that will be local”, supports the manager.
External growth in sight
It is therefore under the sign of projects but also of a good growth that the beverage distribution company begins 2023. “We achieved a turnover of 83 million euros in 2022 (67 million euros in 2021, editor’s note). After 2021, it will have been a somewhat record year, but it is also the result of a development policy carried out for several years. For 2023, the SME is aiming for 95 million euros in turnover, through organic but also external growth.
