The network of houses of architecture launches its prize, open to the greatest number

A new architecture prize is born in France. In partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the National Council of the Order of Architects, the network of houses of architecture (RMA) is launching the first edition of its prize, on the theme “Inhabitants and spaces?”. This bi-annual award aims to award “an action carried out which recalls the importance of the role that architecture plays in the construction, of our contemporary society and of tomorrow“, explains the RMA in a press release.

Application before June 30, 2023

The objective is, above all, to greet “all the commitment in the implementation of a social project“. Thus, the panel of candidates invited to compete is vast: architect, urban planner, landscaper, teachers, authors, mediators, students, activists and collective organizations (institutions, communities, associations, etc.). In addition, any type of action can be rewarded, such as a built project, a book, a film, an exhibition, a conference, a student dissertation, an educational workshop, a meeting, an architecture residency, etc. The project can be ‘enroll in a frugal, resilient approach, mediation or awareness, inclusion or living together.

However, some conditions must be met for the application to be accepted. The action must fall within the theme of the edition and have been carried out in metropolitan France or in the overseas departments, regions or communities over the past two years.

Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2023 here. The finalists will be selected during the summer for an awards ceremony in September. The winner will receive the sum of 5,000 euros, and “promotion and communication actions will be proposed“, specifies the RMA.
