The number of workplace accidents down in New Aquitaine – Le Journal des Entreprises

On the occasion of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, April 28, the prefecture unveiled the latest figures for New Aquitaine: in 2021, 58,997 work accidents with lost time were recorded (in drop compared to 2019 – 60,405 – reference year before Covid), including 3,564 serious (3,487 in 2019) and 47 fatal (74 in 2019). In the region’s twelve departments, 2,060 prevention checks were carried out during the year by the 145 labor inspectors. At the national level, 640,000 accidents at work were deplored (excluding road accidents) including 693 fatalities.
