The president of Lorient Agglomeration wants the port of Lorient to be the maintenance base for the floating wind farm in southern Brittany – Le Journal des Entreprises
President of Lorient Agglomeration and Mayor of Lorient, Fabrice Loher addressed the State so that the port of Lorient be selected as a maintenance base for the future floating wind farm in southern Brittany. The cluster Brittany naval pole (BPN) has awarded its Breizh Content label to five of the nine candidates for State call for tenders No. 5 (AO5) for the Sud Bretagne offshore wind farm off Belle-Île and Groix. Among the criteria are in particular the use of the local economic fabric, the mobilization of Breton ports and the creation of a new Breton sector of the future providing long-term jobs.” This offshore wind farm, the commissioning of which is scheduled for horizon 2030 is a real opportunity for the Pays de Lorient. On the one hand, it will contribute to the territory’s energy sovereignty by 2050. businesses in the territory and to create new jobs in the renewable marine energy sector.
As such, it would not be acceptable for the winner of this AO5 not to make the port of Lorient the maintenance base for the first floating wind farm built in France.” Fabrice Loher therefore calls on the State to take Breizh labeling into account. Happy in the choice of the winner of the AO5.
