The State and the Port of Marseille-Fos make port passage more fluid – Le Journal des Entreprises
In the continuity of the government plan to improve the performance of logistics in France, the services of the State, the Large Maritime Port of Marseille and private operators have been working together for several months to improve the fluidity of traffic for imported goods subject to sanitary and phytosanitary controls, with the aim of increasing the attractiveness of the port of Marseille-Fos. In 2023, the collective effort continues, with the deployment of three new measures. The State will first of all reinforce the teams at the Fos-sur-Mer border control post. Three new agents will allow the establishment of a continuous and extended day for carrying out sanitary and phytosanitary checks on imports.
The handling and transport of containers subject to control will then be prioritized to accelerate the release of goods for free circulation. Finally, the Marseille border control post will be renovated by the end of February 2023. The services currently carrying out controls in a temporary structure will return to these renovated premises for the high citrus import season.
