Is the exemplary state on the way to accomplishing its mission? On the basis of initial partial data communicated to theFrance Media Agency by the Ministry of Public Service on January 16, the Administration would be “ahead of (his) road plan” to reduce its energy consumption by 10% between 2019 and 2024 (i.e. between 18 and 20 terawatt-hours).
On a “representative sample” of more than 8,500 buildings in the State’s building stock, the ministry thus advances an 11.3% drop in gross electricity consumption between November 2021 and November 2022. By correcting these data for seasonal variations, such as exceptionally high temperatures mild last fall, the Administration’s power consumption (heating and lighting, among others) fell by 8.3% over one year.
