Towards a merger of the cities of Saint-Denis and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine?
The mayors (PS) of Saint-Denis, Mathieu Hanotin, and of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, Michel Fourcade, have announced that they want to merge their cities by 2025 “in order to pool services such as the municipal police or the canteen”in an interview with Parisian April 5. If this union between Saint-Denis (110,000 inhabitants) and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (35,000) were to succeed, the new town would become the largest in Ile-de-France after Paris, ahead of Boulogne-Billancourt (117,000 inhabitants).
